Convinced the wife to make an impromptu camping trip this weekend for our first trip of the year!

The weather is supposed to be fairly nice (mid 50's). Going to "summerize" my water system Thursday night and we take off Friday when I get home from work. Can't wait for the camping drought to finally end. That first beer and smell of the campfire is going to be oh so good.

We didn't have anything planned until memorial day so this is a nice surprise.

Just thought I would share my excitement knowing I am only a few days from setting up camp!

Know the feeling, I'm leaving Thursday evening and will be back on Monday. No expectations, just a spring opener.

Glad to hear you're starting the season earlier than expected. Be honest, did you convince your wife or did she convince you Either way hope you have a great time. Where are you headed?
We're leaving for an extended weekend when DW gets home from work today. I called the office at our seasonal site and they said the water was turned on Monday. So we thought what the heck, lets go. I agree with you, this camping drought has got to end.

No I convinced her. She wasn't even thinking about it until I brought it up. Then she started thinking about how long the winter has been and said, "Yea, let's go". I am definitely the camping nut in our family. She likes camping, but she doesn’t share the same passion as I do.
We are going to a nice small county park in Dodge County. Nothing special. It is only a 20 min drive so that will help considering it will be a short weekend to say the least. We probably won't leave until 4:30 Friday and will return Sunday around noon.
I just checked the weather and I am a little concerned about rain Saturday night and Sunday which would make breaking camp a pain. Hope that is just scattered showers.

well looking at where you are at, I am able to understand your excitment. But down here in El Paso,
Tx we have never winterized our rigs and camp year round.

Well we do get a white Christmas, but pay for it from mid november till the end of April. In fact back in 1990 we had 8" of snow on May 11th

We are going for the weekend.
