Site unseen Empty Site unseen

Anyone ever make a reservation at a campground and the person taking the reservation assures your trailer will fit on the site w/o a problem...then you show up and guess what, the site is tiny and there are no other sites available. Been there....

Haven't had this happen yet but we try to always email for assurances. Most times we don't go to the completly crowded parks.

Yep, and the campsite that comes to mind I reserved during a past trip to the west coast. Fort Amarillo RV Resort (TX.) offered campsites that provided you with your "little" piece of heaven. This was a typical site....,

Site unseen Empty Tybee Island Georgia

Post  ellen and shawn Wed Mar 25, 2009 9:47 am

We took our kids to Tybee Island Georgia a few years back camping. We borrowed our friends pop up camper to camp in. The campground was very different. Each of the sites weren't marked so you would know if you were where you were suppose to be. The womens bathroom shower had a vise grip on it and blue and red painted on the wall to mark hot and cold. We went not knowing what the campground would look like. I said we would go back if we had a travel trailer and didn't need to use the facilities . We spent alot of time seeing the sites. They did have a brand new inground pool. That was enjoyable.

One thing to note is that Woodalls puts out a campground guide that rates campgrounds. Going by their recommendations I would think that you could be assured of a decent place to camp

This has never happened to us but we mostly camp at state parks here in Wisconsin. You can look up every site on-line and determine how long the driveway is and how long of an RV they will allow. Typically, their allowance is much less that what really would fit.

I normally do my research to determine which site is the best for us and make sure our rig fits. Piece of cake.

I do see how this could happen though in the privately owned campgrounds
