A/C leaking
Hi Is it normal to have some water dripping from your A/C when it rains? There was probably 10 or so drops on my table and I could tell they dripped from the A/C. Please note that I recently cleaned the roof with a hose and then the next day it rained so I am not sure if the water came in from the rain of from hosing the roof . How do you reseal the A/C? Any thoughts? Thanks

Re: A/C leaking
If it leaked with a hose, it will leak when it rains. There is a compression gasket around the base of the A/C unit that sets over the roof, and sometimes the A/C base frame can come loose......., but it can be tightened from inside the TT.
From inside the TT, remove the four screws holding the plastic A/C cover to the ceiling. With the cover removed you will see four bolts (or large screws) holding the A/C base frame to the roof. Check to make sure that these are "snug", don't over tightened. If you find that you still have a leak, go to your dealer and purchase a new gasket.

Re: A/C leaking
Hey Turk, Tightening the bolts seemed to fix the leak. I do have another question now that I tightened the bolts the A/C is not level in the front no more according to the installation instructions it has to be near level and if it can't the front should not tip forward which it is. If it doesn't leak than why does it matter? When the A/C runs will condensation come in? Is that why they want it level? Thanks

Re: A/C leaking
"Ideally" level to the roof is best for cooling efficiency, and in some cases directing condensation flow in the catch pan. Many roof top RV A/C units allow 8-10 degrees slant side-to-side, front-to-back......, depends on the model. Level is best because it compensates for when the RV may not be level during operation. Very similar to RV frig's, some won't cool very well when the RV is pitched one way or the other on a campsite, effects the operation of the compressor.
If you find that you have to much slant on the A/C, try backing off on the tightness of the bolts (should be evenly tightened), or it may be time for a new compression gasket. If I recall correctly, the gasket should only to be tightened so that the gasket is compressed to about 1/2".
