Re: Who uses Maxxair or similar Vent covers?
I installed the MAXXAIR Fanmate 800 over the Fantastic fan in our bedroom and Maxxair II covers over the powervents in our bathroom and rear bunkroom. Highly recommend them as it's so nice to leave the vent covers open to let fresh air in and not have to worry about the rain getting in. A real easy mod well worth the install time and investment.

Re: Who uses Maxxair or similar Vent covers?
if I had a bedroom vent I would have had a fantastic fan. being cheap, taking the maxxairs off my Dutchmen was a good idea

I always wanted to get them and this year I will. Are they hard to install? Sorry but I have yet to do a mod to my 5vr as I bought it new and I am still in that "first scratch" phase.

Re: Who uses Maxxair or similar Vent covers?
I installed two Maxxair covers within months after I purchased my TT in 2000. The following year, I replaced the bathroom Maxxair cover with the TurboMaxx fan. Both are still on my rig (and functioning in the case of the TurboMaxx fan) after all these years. I've been more than satisfied with their products. Their customer support has been excellent too. I was short a screw in the packet and received a whole new packet a few days after calling them about it.
I recommend for anyone considering installing a vent fan to not put it in the bedroom. Why? While most fans are fairly quiet, do you want to listen to its noise all night?

My better half HAS to sleep with a fan on lol
Re: Who uses Maxxair or similar Vent covers?
Had vent covers on my C and now have them on all of the vents of the 322 FKS. Was the first mod we did. I don't think I would want a TT without them. They are left open all year, even with the cover on, and I feel the moisture gets out better. We've never had a smell after storage and have never found condensation buildup. The elements don't worry us while traveling and it seems to air out the TT on each trip.
I've been told that the only time you would want them closed is on long dusty roads. The flow-through effect would not be good as dust can then get into the unit. Having them closed would pressurize the unit and not as much dust and dirt could get in.

If you have a fan running, how do you hear the crickets chirping at night?

Re: Who uses Maxxair or similar Vent covers?
We have a regular one on our bathroom vent. Haven't had a problem so far. They allow plenty of air flow, and the vent is only run during times when the shower's in use and for about 10 minutes after, to help clear out the steam. Had the same type of cover on our last TT, also without any problems.
