Post  Mike on Fri Feb 27, 2009 8:01 pm

Anyone with a newer Eagle originally consider a designer?

Jayco Designer

Post  RV5ver on Mon Mar 02, 2009 12:10 pm

Mike....I did consider and was looking closely at the Designer, but unfortunately I just bought a new Dodge Ram 2500 that wouldn't have been enough truck for the weight of the Designer. I should have bought the truck after making my trailer choice! The good news is that I bought an 08 Eagle 291RLTS and have been very happy with my second choice and it is more suited for my truck. We looked at a lot of 5th wheel brands before buying but felt the Jayco line was built with better quality than most for the money. Very, very pleased. Don

Eagle vs Designer

Post  anpkids3 on Thu Jun 25, 2009 1:02 pm

We were looking at Designers when the sales person suggested we look at the Eagle. With some exceptions, they are identical. We bought the 341RLQS Eagle and absolutely love it. It's a heavy rig, 11.4K dry and almost 14.8K fully loaded. We opted for a second a/c unit, Mor Ryde pin box, shocks, aluminum wheels, and stand-alone dining table with chairs. Still about $10K less than Designer. Move it around with a F350 Super Crew 6.4L LB dually w/Tow Boss and 4:30 rear. Great comfort all the way around.
