Almost $2000 and counting
Spent the weekend getting the new Jayco set-up:
New rugs, wire shelves, plastic drawers, paper towel rack, hooks, ottoman, bigger TV, electric tongue jack, globe lights, towel rack, new trash cans, new toaster, new bedding........
Still need grills for the screen door so the dog doesn't go through and a toothbrush holder.
It never stops!

Re: Almost $2000 and counting
Furnishing an RV is a lot like furnishing (and maintaining) a second home. Occasionally, we purchased items that were nicer than what we have in our house. Some basic housekeeping items that come to mind: Eight place settings of Corelle ware, T-Fal cookware, toaster, coffee maker, TV, VHS/DVD player, electric heater, outside carpet, folding table, vacuum cleaner, dish strainer/rack, blankets, sheets, pillows, clothes drying rack, laundry baskets, alarm clock, trash cans.
Then all those other accessories for the RV itself like: Maxx/Air covers, wheel chocks (and also a between the wheels chock), folding ladder, awning lights, 25' 30A extension, extra water and sewer hose, Quickie flush, 6 ton bottle jack, water pressure regulator, Lynx Levelers, sewer connection fittings. a "foot" for the tongue, extension mirrors for the truck, a Fin-Guard to protect the condensor fins of the A/C unit, bars to put in the refrigerator to keep the items secure.
And, of course all the food and other supplies for maintenance/sanitation needs.
...and, you're right. It never stops!

Amen. This isn't even counting the stuff that came out of the old RV, which includes most of the stuff Frank listed. Still working on the folding extension ladder. What exactly is the Fin-Guard?

Make sure you leave enough extra money to actually go camping.

The plastic shrouds on rooftop A/C units were sometimes completely open where the condenser is. This subjects the condenser fins to damage from hail, tree branches, etc. The Fin Guard is a screen attaches over the opening to protect the delicate fins of the condenser. My original A/C shroud cracked many years ago. I super glued it and it held for a number of years. At the end of the 2007 camping season, I noticed the crack was back and getting longer. Rather than risking the shroud suddenly separating from the A/C unit and possibly causing a catastrophe, I replaced it last year with a Tuff/Maxx shroud that's guaranteed for life. The design of the Tuff/Maxx is such that a Fin Guard is unnecessary.
The folding ladder I have is quite versatile and can be made into a number of shapes. However, I use it as a straight ladder (for reaching the roof) and as a regular step ladder (for cleaning off the slide-out roof and awning) most often.
